Our Story

In 2020, two like-minded individuals by the names of Jake Carter and Jack Scoles established Nomad Built. Our mission? To use our expert knowledge and craftsmanship to build architectural masterpieces, from a full commercial kitchen to a luxury country retreat in NSW.

With 30 years of experience between our founding members and a team of the most professional tradesmen, we have carved a name for ourselves as specialists in building architect-designed homes, quality renovations and extensions.

Before we get into it, this is our story.

How it started

After entering the industry in 2008, Jake spent 12 years learning the tools of the trade at a large building company, while studying Construction Management at Queensland University of Technology. He attained his Site Supervisor Licence in 2015, before deciding to take the next step and attain his Builders Licence in 2019 and link up with Jack to establish Nomad Built in 2020.

Jack had already made a name for himself in the residential construction industry, having completed his carpentry apprenticeship working for a high-end builder in Sydney. Jack supervised multi-million-dollar projects from start to finish, building up his confidence and experience in delivering high-quality homes to clients.

Together, Jake and Jack founded a business that prides itself on delivering a professional service that involves an in-depth eight-step process, effective project management systems, and skills – all with a keen eye for detail.

Delivering a customer-centric service is really important to our team, from initial introductions right through to handover and beyond. Our relationship with our clients doesn’t end when we hand you the keys to your new home.

We make sure our projects stand the test of time, offering free home health checks after three months.

This relationship-based model lets us work collaboratively with our clients to ensure their new home exceeds all expectations.

How it’s going

In the few years since we set up shop, our team has already worked on a slew of stellar builds. Last year, we breathed new life into Moorabinda Guest House, a spellbinding property nestled on 300 acres of a working sheep farm in Narrawa NSW.

The transformation featured a full re-roof in COLORBOND® steel Matt, the demolition and then fit-out of the kitchen and bathroom, a new skylight in the kitchen, and a full internal re-paint.

Not only were our clients chuffed with the result, but the revitalised Moorabinda Guest House was also featured in Country Style Magazine.

And from a working sheep farm to the commercial kitchen, our work led us to Ikaria Bondi, a Mediterranean restaurant that required an 80m2 commercial kitchen fit-out, including a bar, dining area, and bathrooms.

We’d recommend checking out our Instagram page to see this completed project in all its glory. And while you’re there, you can watch us work our magic on our current projects.

In Newport, on the Northern Beaches, we’re working on an extension for a new kitchen, bathroom, and an ensuite with a deck and pool that overlooks picturesque Bungan Beach. Meanwhile, in Sunshine Beach, QLD, work is currently underway on a façade renovation, a new carport, knotwood screening, and a full external repaint.

Just head to our Instagram highlights to watch how these projects, and future ones, take shape.

Our difference

Whether you’re looking to build your new home or extend your existing one, we at Nomad Built are passionate about working with you to turn your dream home into a reality. We have the systems and processes in place to ensure that your project is well managed and expertly executed, giving you peace of mind from initial concept, through to handover.
